Continental Alloys & Services is a proud sponsor of the World’s Longest Hockey Game, which set a Guinness World Record of 246 hours and two minutes from May 6 to 16, 2012. The event raised more than $1.6 million for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The marathon on ice was played at the Chestermere Recreation Centre, near Calgary. Forty men, many from the oil and gas sector, split into two teams and donned skates and pads for the 10-day-plus competition.
The final score was an astounding 4,137-3,850 for Team Cure over Team Hope — but more important than the score or the world record was the opportunity to raise funds to help children in need of medical care.
